Times change a little each session. The registration page has this week's.
Four kinds of class, each with its own room and its own teacher.

Scarves, hoops, a story and a song, in a class of up to 10 with a grown-up waiting in the family room. Forty-five minutes of moving, listening and taking turns.
Creative movement
A first barre, a first pair of tap shoes and a combination to learn each month. Classes of up to 8 for ages 6 to 8, and up to 10 for ages 9 to 12.
Ballet and tap
Music with a beat, a warm-up that moves, and a short routine shared at the end. Sneakers for hip hop, jazz shoes for jazz.
Jazz and hip hop
Beginner ballet, jazz and tap in the evening, for adults who danced once and would like to again. Come on your own; no partner needed.
Adult eveningsWhether you may watch, what to wear, who collects. The rest is on the family policies page.
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Parents of ages 3 to 5 stay in the building and wait in the family room, which has a window onto Studio A. The sixth week of every session is a watch week: families sit along the studio wall and watch the class. On other days we keep the door closed so dancers can hear their teacher, and the window stays open to you. Recital seating is open, with the first two rows kept for families of the preschool classes. Photos and video of your own dancer from your seat are welcome, without flash.
Ages 3 to 5 wear a leotard or a plain top with leggings or a skirt, and ballet slippers or bare feet. For ballet at 6 and up, a leotard and tights; for jazz and hip hop, a fitted top with leggings or shorts, and clean sneakers that stay in the studio. Hair is up and off the neck, and jewelry stays at home apart from stud earrings. Socks are fine for the first weeks, and we will tell you when shoes are needed. We take costume sizes in person, in the winter.
A grown-up brings and collects every dancer in ages 3 to 5, and the teacher hands each child to the person who came with them. For older dancers, the door opens ten minutes before class, and we ask you to tell us who is collecting. We ask for ID from anyone we haven't met, and we will wait with a dancer until their grown-up arrives.
Please keep your dancer home with a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, and until they have been well for a full day. A cough that keeps them from keeping up is a good reason to rest, too. Text or call the studio and we will tell you how a missed class can be made up.

A parent or guardian stays in the building for every creative movement class, and the teacher hands each child to a named grown-up at the door.
Both studios have sprung floors and a barre at child height, and the hoops, mats and scarves go back in their baskets after class.
Tell us about allergies or an injury before the first class. We ask privately once you register, never on the website form.

Six teachers share the week at Chasse. Three of them lead the classes on this page.

Director, ballet and tap
Raynelle teaches the ballet and tap classes and the adult evenings, and opened Chasse after teaching in other Wisconsin studios. She answers the studio phone on Saturday mornings.

Creative movement and preschool classes
Lorelei leads the ages 3 to 5 classes with scarves, hoops and songs. She is the teacher a grown-up meets at the door on Saturday mornings.

Jazz and hip hop
Maylee teaches jazz and hip hop for ages 6 to 12, and an adult jazz evening on Wednesdays. She grew up in the Chippewa Valley.

“The room is bright, the teachers greet every dancer at the door, and the watch week let me see what the class is really like.”
“My daughter was nervous on the first Saturday. Lorelei sat on the floor with her and the scarves, and by the end she was part of the circle.”
“I hadn't danced since high school. The Monday evening class is gentle, nobody stares, and I look forward to it all week.”
