Adults

Adult evenings

Evening classes for adults who danced once and would like to again.

Monday is ballet basics, Wednesday is jazz and Thursday is tap. Everyone comes on their own, nobody is asked to perform, and the teacher says what each step is for. Dancers of every level are welcome, including those who have never taken a class.

What a class is like

  1. 01

    Step 1: Warm-up

Slow movement and stretching, with every option offered at two levels.

  2. 02

    Step 2: A step at a time

The teacher breaks each step down and shows it from the front and from behind.

  3. 03

    Step 3: A short combination

Linking the steps into eight counts of music, repeated until it feels easy.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Cool-down

A last stretch and a cup of tea in the family room, if you'd like one.

What to wear and bring

Whatever you can move in: leggings or sweatpants, a fitted top, and socks or bare feet. Ballet slippers, jazz shoes or tap shoes come later, and only if you want them.

  • A water bottle

  • A towel, if you'd like one

  • Come ten minutes early the first night
